Alright, ladies and gents. It's been two months (to the day) since I've posted any thing and I'm feeling pretty damned lazy so I thought I'd do a random banal update on my artistic/intellectual pursuits and talk about my plans for this Samhain.

First off, and if you don't want a random grammar/history lesson then feel free to skip this paragraph, for those who don't know I'd like to say that it's not pronounced 'sam-hain' as per the Ghostbusters cartoon series and the general phonetic pronunciation, it's pronounced 'sa-wan'. In the Irish language, the pairing of 'mh' constitutes a single letter that pronounces a W sound. Just thought I'd throw that out there. It's pronounced 'sa-wan' in Irish, 'sow-in' in Scottish and 'sa-ween' in Welsh, the latter of which paired with the fact the original pagan ritual was adapted by the church much the same way Christmas was and made into a celebration of the hallowed dead gives the holiday its name. I'm a wealth of useless knowledge.

As for my Samhain plans? I'm doin' dick tonight. Well, I'm going to watch a few horror movies. Dementia 13, The Lost Boys, Return of the Ghostbusters, Carnival of Souls... But other than that? Not a whole hell of a lot. Might steal some of my sister's candy when she isn't paying attention too, kids are fun like that. They're like house cats. Slide a quarter across the floor and when they run off to chase it just grab two handfuls of Snickers and run off laughing like Sideshow Bob. Already did my Halloween show anyway, so no real need to get off my ass and put any effort into anything.

Speaking of the show, I've done four live editions to date (one every Saturday this month) and I'm scheduled again for this Saturday. It's still an amateurish venture, but I have decent music and I'm making progress towards sounding somewhat like a real DJ. The book is coming along nicely too, I'm on my 36th chapter currently and starting to entertain the idea of tracking down a publisher so that I might get paid to write the rest of it. That'll motivate me to finish it before '09.
